U-Memphis Law Student Wins Tennessee Volunteer Award

Betsy Prendergast, athird-year law student at the University of Memphis, recently receivedthe Law Student Volunteer of the Year Award at the Tennessee BarAssociation’s annual public service luncheon in Nashville.

TheTBA selected Prendergast as the Tennessee law school student who hasprovided outstanding volunteer service by working with an organizationthat’s dedicated to representing the indigent. 

Her work has included family law matters, landlord-tenant disputes, consumer law cases, estate and probate issues and elder law.  Pendergrast named U-Memphis elder law professor Donna Harkness as one of her mentors.
