Reports of Elder Abuse Increase signficantly since 1993

A new Research Bulletin by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority has concluded that reports of elder abuse in Illinois have increased dramatically in the last decade. The Report, entitled “The rise in reported elder abuse: A review of state and national data” says that “the number of reported elder abuse cases in Illinois increased 85 percent between state fiscal years 1993 and 2003, according to the Department on Aging.” Get the full report here.
