The history of Medicaid

As the nation’s governors examine the forty year old Medicaid program–and at least one calls for abolishing it–it might behoove those who care about providing health care –which is considered a basic human right under the International Declaration of Human Rights–to the poor, elderly, and disabled, to review how and why the program was implemented in the first place.  Here is some info on the history of Medicaid and Medicare.
