KFF Report: Profiles of Nursing Home Residents on Medicaid
Thisreport illustrates through case examples the experiences and challengesof low- and modest-income people who rely on Medicaid to pay fornursing home expenses. These case examples were developed throughin-person interviews with nursing home residents and their families inthree states: Georgia, Kansas and Virginia. The first section of thereport summarizes the themes and issues shared across the interviewsKaiser conducted, while the second section presents the individualstories of a subset of those Kaiser interviewed.
