NS gov’t approves plans for long term care in Pictou

The provincial Health Departmentapproved the development of a long-term plan for Pictou Countyhealth-care facilities, the local health authority announced Friday.  Healthy 2020 — Pictou County aims to meet the needs of futuregenerations, health authority chairman Murray Hill said. The masterplan and program will focus on the Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow andthe Sutherland Harris Memorial Hospital and addiction service facilityin Pictou.  The project involves identifying the types and volumes of programsand services the health authority needs to deliver over the next 10 to15 years, including staffing details and operational and functionalrequirements.
