Can tea ward off Alzheimers?

New scientific research suggests that drinking tea may lower anindividual’s risk of developing dementia and other neurodegenerativedisorders such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases.  This andother new research that suggests drinking tea may improve and maintainbrain health and function was presented at the recent FourthInternational Scientific Symposium on Tea and Human Health inWashington.  The body of research shows that tea probably directly impacts brainhealth by maintaining cell function and assisting in the repair ofdamaged cells, says Carol Greenwood, a professor of nutritionalsciences at the University of Toronto.  “Drinking tea may further help because it reduces the risk ofdeveloping other disorders which increase the risk of cognitive declineand dementia,” she says.
