A little known fact about me: at the age of 51, I thought it would be a good idea to take up hockey. Unlike Patti Craze, I had never skated regularly as a child. In fact, I had only skated one time since 1965, and on that occasion I fell and tore my rotator cuff. But Minnesota IS hockey, and I wanted to try it…I took a clinic, joined a team…and within 6 months, had broken my leg. My very first broken bone! I never even got to play in a real game, and my hockey career was over before it even started. But I will say that hockey is by far the most fun sport I have ever attempted to play. The broken leg was definitely worth the few moments of glory I was able to achieve on the ice!
