Area Agencies on Aging: Continuing Stalemate in Congress “Will” Affect Senior Services

Meals on Wheels, adult day care, in-home supports and other key programs will be affected by Congressional members’ failure to pass a budget, according to a survey of Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), as reported by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging. The effects could come as early as this month.   The fiscal year — with or without federal funding — began on October 1, and states and local communities were struggling to provide services, even before the Congressional impass that affects funding to AAAs.
