Cook County Elder Justice Center

Exciting news! The Cook County Elder Justice Center opened on September 3rd, 2013. The facility is elder-friendly  and part of the Elder Law and Miscellaneous Remedies (ELMR) Division. According to the CCEJC informational materials,  “the … purpose of the CCEJC is to serve as a resource center for citizens of Cook County who are aged 60 and older. The CCEJC will provide information and support needed to help older adults avoid becoming victims of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation. The CCEJC will also provide referrals to the appropriate legal and social service agencies.” The CCEJC is located at 50 West Washington Street, Room CL-16 in Chicago.  The phone # is  (312) 603-9233. Judge Patricia Banks is the presiding judge.

I know this has been a long time in the making and many kudos go to Chief Judge Evans, Judge Banks and myriad Elder Law Attorneys and law profs in Chicago for their hard work.

This seriously ROCKS!!!
