The Topic:For consumers and many attorneys, long-term care is relatively uncharteredterritory. They may not realize the often significant discrepancy between afacility’s current policies and legal obligations. Eric Carlson will describecommon problems and provide practical tips for advocating on residents’ behalf.He will also discuss significant trends in the provision of long-term care,noting both opportunities and potential pitfalls.
The Presenter:Eric Carlson is the Director of the Long-Term Care Project of the NationalSenior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC). He advises attorneys and others from acrossthe country on long-term care issues and co-counsels litigation on residents’behalf. He is the author of numerous publications including Long-Term Care Advocacy(Lexis Publishing) and NSCLC’s bi-monthly Long-TermCare Law Reporter.
