ABA CLA updates APS/mandatory reporting charts
New charts on mandatory (and voluntary) reporting to adult protectiveservices (APS) are now available. These charts were prepared for the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) by theABA Commission on Law and Aging (ABA Commission).

These charts answer some of the most frequently askedquestions in the elder abuse field: “How many states have mandatoryreporting?” and “Who is required to report elder abuse?”Knowledge of the reporting provisions in APS laws is critical for individualswho are mandated or who wish to report suspected elder abuse, members ofprofessions and disciplines that collaborate with APS, and victims or peoplewho are concerned about them. Additionally, state and federal legislativestaff, other policy makers, educators, researchers, and reporters often want toknow what states have mandatory reporting and who is required to report theirsuspicions about elder abuse to APS.
