Betsy Abramson wins Shire Melli Achievement Award

Betsy Abramson, co-founder of the Elder Law Center at the Coalitionof Wisconsin Aging Groups, has been named the recipient of the 2007Legal Association for Women’s Marygold Shire Melli Achievement Award.  Theauthor of numerous articles on issues related to the health and welfareof the elderly, Abramson has long been an active Madison communityvolunteer.  She has been a member of the United Way communitysolution team, an organizer of the city of Madison study circles onrace, a trustee of the Dane County Pro Bono Trust Fund, a Madison EqualOpportunities Commissioner and president of Temple Beth El. She ispresident of the Simpson Street Free Press board.  The Melli award recognizes women who advance the interests of women members of the legal profession.

Betsy served as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin from 2004-06.
