US Life Expectancies Fall Short

Asian-American women living in Bergen County, N.J., lead the nationin longevity, typically reaching age 91. Worst off are American-Indianmen living in swaths of South Dakota, who die around age 58 — threedecades sooner.

Where you live, combined with race and income,plays a huge role in the nation’s health disparities, differences sostark that a report issued Monday contends it’s as if there are eightseparate Americas instead of one.

Millions of Americans have lifeexpectancies typical of developing countries, concluded Dr. ChristopherMurray of the Harvard School of Public Health.

Ed:  Of the top 100 counties in the US for life expectancy, 21 are in MInnesota.  And MInnesota ranks 2d overall in life expectancy.  I guess our winters are good for something after all!
