Kaiser to Host Workshop On Low-Income Medicare Drug Assistance
The Kaiser Family Foundation will host a policy workshop on reaching and enrolling
the 14.4 million low-income people with Medicare potentially eligible for additional
assistance with premiums and cost-sharing as part of the new Medicare drug benefit. The
workshop will be open to policymakers and the media and will take place at 9:30
a.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 8. It will include updates from the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Social Security Administration on
outreach and enrollment efforts, as well as perspectives on the challenges and
strategies from those involved in outreach to low-income Medicare beneficiaries.
